Can't Get Conditional Formatting to Work

We're trying to identify new hires who are not producing to goal (see image (18) below to see the target ranges based on time in role). I have entered in what seems like conditional formatting that should work for 0-3 month new hires at their Month 0 mark (trying to turn red anyone below $30,000.00) but it's not working. What am I missing??

I tested and cannot get it to work with dropdown that contains leading 0 but works fine if:

Tenure Month is regular text
OR
Tenure Month in Dropdown is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. (instead of using leading 0), it works.

Could you set your conditional formatting to be one of 00, 01, 02, 03?

Hello,

I think You should remove the currency formatting-the Dollar Sign $ from the condition itself. You can leave it in the sheet formatting though. I tested it quickly. Please check

@lmarantos - how is tenure month column populated? Not sure why this isn’t working for you.

@Protonsponge The Tenure Month is now a dropdown list. It was originally just text/number, but I changed it so I had the ability to check them individually for your suggestion above. I'm completely stumped on this one! Thank you so much for your help!
