Can I comment and tag a SmartSheet Group in the comments/email?

I have found older posts that this is not an option through SS although I have been told it is by someone at SmartSheet. I was told that I could @groupname to ensure all parties (or a subset of those to whom the sheet is shared via setting up different groups) are sent comments vs. having to go into SS and review for comments. We are transitioning from a heavy email to SS and need a way to bridge and form habits in SS. Any words of wisdom?

At the moment, Smartsheet doesn’t support the ability to @mention groups in comments or emails.

I did find an existing Product Idea post about this functionality: Add @ mentions to groups in Conversations.
