Best practice for dynamic update of dropdown list

We use dropdown lists quite a bit for our filters and dashboards and function. E.g., we track work by campaigns. However, some campaigns are added and some drop off. What are best practices for managing work that needs to be tracked in a master sheet where the drop down categories need updating once in a while?

You can do this using Data Shuttle or Bridge if you have access to either of those. You can also use the API. Otherwise it is a manual process.
