I have a "Current Project Log" with 2024 accounts. How do I move to "2024 Log" & keep dashboards?

Hello, Due to the size of our log I can only keep 1 year's worth of data in a sheet. I have monthly and YTD metrics/dashboards that pull from the current sheet. I need to move 2024 into a new sheet to make room for 2025 projects, but I know doing this will cause issues with the dashboards. Is there a way I can do this without writing a ton of new formulas to pull from both sheets? What is the best way to set this up so I'm not faced with this issue next year?

    Hi @Mary Clark

    2 possible options here:

1)-You could create a new sheet, maybe called 2024 Archive, then select all the 2024 rows on your main sheet, right click and choose "move to another sheet". That'll move them off your main sheet and the dashboard will remain intact and ready for 2025 information.

2)-You could take the main sheet and the dashboard and any other related reports or sheets and put them all into a folder. Then "save-as-new" on the whole folder. In the new folder, go to the main sheet and delete all the 2024 data. This method is good becuase it will retain the dashboard for the 2024 data and all the cell history and activity log.

    I hope that helps.

Thanks @Matt Johnson. In scenario #1, what happens to the 2024 dashboards? I did this at the end of 2023 and all of the metric pages & dashboards zero'd out because my main sheet no longer had 2023 entries.
