We aim to strike a balance between fostering helpful interactions and maintaining a collaborative, spam-free environment.

Based on feedback from our members, we’ve updated our Smartsheet Online Community Guidelines around offering consultant services to help new consultants and current members understand best practices in the forum - check out the new section below:

Advertising and Self-promotion in the Community:

Advertising and Self-promotion: You may promote your Smartsheet-related services on the Community Job Board up to once per quarter. Avoid advertising your services directly in discussion threads. Instead, use your Community signature to include succinct contact details or links for those interested in reaching out. You can edit your signature settings here.

Engaging in Discussions: Keep your comments focused on the thread topic. While offering assistance is encouraged, only suggest meetings or direct outreach within your response if the question requires a complex solution.

Offering Complex Solutions: In rare cases where a solution is too detailed for a written response, you may offer to meet or connect outside the Community (e.g., via email) to explain further, provided that you:

Post a brief summary of the solution in your initial comment.

Follow-up with an updated summary of the solution after assisting the user.

Respect Privacy: Please do not email or contact other members externally (e.g. via LinkedIn) without their explicit permission.

Thank you for helping make our Community a safe, productive, and enjoyable space for everyone!

Love this - ESPECIALLY the piece about posting a summary update if the discussion happened outside the Community. There are quite a few older posts that I wish I could learn from but were directed elsewhere!

If my comment helped you, please help others by marking it as an accepted answer and consider helping me by clicking the 💡Insightful or ❤️Awesome buttons below!
