how to get a checkbox
I am so new to this, and I am trying to add a check box to a column and not having any luck. I have named the column, and I select checkbox, but it does not show.

@Mona5 Hey, Mona! Welcome to Smartsheet! For your particular problem, do you have any data entered in any of the rows below? Until you start populating a row the check box won't appear on it. It basically, only applies the check box to the row that has data on it.
I've set up my checkbox column as follows:
As you can see there is no checkbox there on this row yet:
Once you begin to add data to the row it will generate the check box in the column you want:
