Recover Deleted Columns

One of my licensed users deleted two columns. Is there a way to recover these ? The activity log does not help as it just states that the were deleted. The next activity shows that the formulas were unparesable with details which doesn't help with the original data. Help?

You can right-click the file, and request a backup. Alternately you can also request a snapshot via the activity log. You will receive an Excel file as the backup via your email. Then you can recreate your columns and past the data back in.
All the best,

this will send an excel file to the owner. You can then get the columns and their values. I'd suggest importing the excel as a new sheet and then bringing in the data with an index(match()) formula if its not an easy cut/paste (i.e. rows were added, sorted ect…) since the snapshot.

Hello @Elizabeth Aird. I've noticed there are more details when you download the activity report. Might be worth a try. Unfortunately, I do not believe there is a way to recover the deleted columns.

Hi @Elizabeth Aird
In the Activity Log, find the last sheet update before the columns were deleted. Click on the little black arrow next to the Action and then hit the "Request Snapshot" option
This will send and e-mail to the sheet owner with a .csv file containing the sheet and the data. You can then manually readd the columns and data back into your sheet.
Hope that helpsMarcé Holzhauzen
