Merging to contact Columns

Hi,

I am looking for a workaround to merge to contact columns into a third column (where the merged contacts from other two columns should also be contacts). The new third column type was changed to Column, still not able to figure out the formula.

The need for the merged column is to use in dynamic view (restrict view by users) settings.

Can someone please help with this?

You can set the sheet filter to also be by current user. You can even use one or both as a multi-select contact type column and have the argument be "has any of" instead of "is one of". Only one dynamic view would be needed then. I have used this many times to get around only being able to select one column in the DV builder.

There are a few work-arounds for doing something like this with a third column, but none of them are very elegant. If you are doing this for a Dynamic View, you can create a shared sheet filter and specify "or" to show rows where the first is one of "whoever" OR the second is one of "whoever" and then set this sheet filter in the first part of the Dynamic View builder.

Hi @Paul Newcome Thank you for responding! However, creating sheet filters in my case would need more dynamic views and in the long run it will be difficult manage more dynamic views. So having that third column would help me with only having a one dynamic view, where under Restrict view by current user, I will select that third column (which is a merge of two contact columns). And I was also wandering why this (Restrict view by user user) was not a multiselect, if it was a multiselect, then I would have chosen two contact columns and respective people might have automatically view their information.
