[Updated] Brandfolder Filestack Version Security Update

UPDATE May 9, 2025
Brandfolder rolled back the recent Filestack upgrade from v3 to v1 on 5/9/2025.
Why are we updating Filestack:
Brandfolder uses the vendor Filestack today to power our UI upload functionality. We’re making this change to restore essential upload functionality and minimize any disruptions you might have experienced on v3.
What This Means for You
The conversion of a file’s folder path to tags will once again be automatically applied to files that are uploaded via dragging and dropping folders from your local machine. For uploads from Google Drive, Dropbox and Box this will also restore the resulting tags to folder names, rather than folder IDs.

Brandfolder will be updating our Filestack version from v1 to v3 on January 23, 2025.

Brandfolder uses the vendor Filestack today to power our UI upload functionality. Upgrading to the latest version of Filestack is necessary to maintain the security, stability, and supportability of our system.
What This Means for You
The core functionality you rely on remains unchanged:
You’ll still be able to drag and drop files and folders to upload into Brandfolder seamlessly.Other ingestion methods will not be affected.
Key Change: The conversion of a files folder path to tags will no longer be automatically applied to files that are uploaded via dragging and dropping folders from your local machine.
Note: Users can still upload using Google Drive, Box, and Dropbox integrations to maintain the folder path auto-tagging functionality.
