Custom View for Calendar App

Is there a way to have custom views based on a group or individual identified in a column similar to the 'Current User' filter for reports?

If the column containing the users is a contact list column, you can create a current user filter on the sheet. To do so, take the following steps:
- Select the down arrow next to Filter Off (or whichever filter is currently applied) and select New Filter.
- Enter a name for the filter and check the box to share the filter so that other users will be able to use the filter.
- Set the filter to “[Contact list column] is one of Current User”.
Your filter will be applied in all views of the sheet - take a look at my test sheet with a current user filter below, showing the one task that’s assigned to me in Calendar View:
For more information on sheet filters, check out the following help articles:Alternatively, you could create a report with the sheet as the source and then create a current user filter on the report.
Hope that helps!
Georgie

@Georgie Thank you for your response. This is only for the new Calendar View. This type of current user filter is not available in the Calendar App, right? I find the Calendar App provides a wider variety of features the Calendar view just doesn't have such as the category organization, different views and ability to pull from multiple sources.

Ah, apologies for the confusion - yes, my previous response is regarding calendar view within Smartsheet. I’ve edited the title of this thread so that it is clearly related to Calendar App and not Calendar View.
You’re right, there’s currently no option for a current user filter in Calendar App. When you have a moment, please submit your feature request to the Product team by creating an Idea Post in the Smartsheet Product Feedback and Ideas topic here in the Community. This will allow other users to vote on your enhancement idea!
However, you could create shared filters in Calendar App based on the contact column - one filter for each user, so that users can select their filter when viewing the Calendar. Or you could create filters that show all tasks assigned to several people (“Where [Contact List Column] has any of [User 1], [User 2]”, etc).
Thanks,
Georgie

@Georgie thanks for updating based on the specific issue and for confirming.
The filter solution you provided won't work with level specific information. Users will still be able to see things they shouldn't. I was hoping to be able to create one calendar view and build something similar to reports where data is only visible based on the user that is logged into the asset.
