Request Update/Notification with Attachment Automations
Hello,
I have request an update automation that allows attachments to be uploaded. When an attachment is added, I have a notify automation built to include the attachment. The automation is functional and only works when an attachment is added via the request an update automation, but the notification doesn't include the attachment. My automation and the notification email are below.
I'm wondering if it's just that Smartsheet doesn't show documents added via the update request in the subsequent notification? For reference, I'm looking for the attachment to be clickable from the email, as I cannot provide access to the sheet:

hi @Y Lazor,
The only way to send attachment as a part of notification it need to be triggered by Attachment Added or Attachment Changed. If you have an attachment in the row but you trigger notification by other trigger the attachment will not be sent.

Yes, take a look at the screenshot in my initial post. The trigger is a row is changed, attachment is added. The notification that goes out doesn't include the attachment, though (see bottom screenshot).

have you tried making some tests without the request an update?
Like drag a drop an attachment to any row and see if the triggered notification will have the attachment included.

Yes, and it works, but I need it to work on the form because I can't give access to the sheet.
Automation 1 - Send update request with option to upload attachment
Automation 2 - Send notification when attachment is uploaded, including attachment (not receiving attachment)
I think it has to do with the attachment not being fully uploaded when the notification automation is triggered. I created another automation to change a cell value when an attachment is uploaded, then, when that cell value changes, the notification goes out. That leaves enough of a delay for it to work!
Automation 1 - Send update request with option to upload attachment
Automation 2 - When attachment is added, change "helper" column
Automation 3 - When attachment is added and "helper" column changes, send notification, including attachment (attachment is included)
