Save as Template then Save as New...

If someone takes an existing Smartsheet, performs Saves a Template within a Workspace, makes edits to their template, then saves their template using "Save as New"...does that overide the original Smartsheet with their changes that they created the template from?

I have never had it override my original smartsheet with the changes.

Do you know if the Smartsheet is shared with multiple users, one user saves as template/save as new, would the original smartsheet be overridden with that users changes?
