Hyperlink support for custom URL protocol

We're looking to make use of a custom tool that we have registered as a browser custom protocol. Is it possible or maybe in the works to add support for using custom protocol URL in a hyerlink? Currently I get invalid URL.

Only the validated hyperlinks can be used in the Link to URL somethin ghat has \ cant be considered as a website hyperlink.
