Change Background Color of Dropdown Bubbles

Is there a way to change the background color of the dropdown bubbles?
On the main report, everything is in its own gray dropdown bubble, which is best for black text. However, when I run a report, the dropdown bubble is removed, leaving the text over a background color that varies with our color coding. In this case, white text is usually best since we use dark/bold colors.
If I could change the color of the dropdown bubbles, I could match them to the background or adjust the contrast. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to do that. This results in black text that's hard to read on a dark background for the reports, or white text that's hard to read on the gray dropdown bubble for the spreadsheets.
We need to keep the rest of the formatting on the reports, so removing the formatting (or the dropdown bubbles) isn't a great option. Changing the color of the dropdown bubbles would be the simplest fix for me.

You can absolutely do this with conditional formatting. Have you already set this up? Here is an article that might help and if you want to do a quick zoom so I can show you how, feel free to throw time on my calendar below.

@Michelle Choate 2 I'm not sure I understand. I can change the background color of the row, sure, but not the bubble… unless I'm missing it.
Here's the conditional formatting:
Here's the row (different background, different text colors):
Here's the report on a dashboard where there are no bubbles.
The black text on the bubbles is easier to read, but it's hard to read on the dark background.
The white text on the bubbles is hard to read, but it's easier to read on the dark background.
I don't see a way to change the bubble color with conditional formatting. Can you help me see that?

Hello @S.Stone!
Ah - I see. You have a Multi-Select dropdown. And yes, it is possible to color only a cell, not an entire row if that is what you are going for, throw some time on my calendar and let's get this solved!

@Michelle Choate 2 Thank you, but that does not solve my issue. I will not be scheduling anything with you, as I know how to use conditional formatting to change the color of cells.
