How can I set up my Smartsheet Project so 1 day duration shows next work day in End Date column?

In all of our projects, if we say something takes one work day to complete, then the expectation is that it will be completed by the following day after the start day (because you may not have the whole day to work on it), not the same day as the start day. How can I set up my Smartsheet Project so 1 day duration shows the next work day in the End Date column?

Thx for any guidance or help!

    Hi @kurtstoll_spectrum!!

The way Smartsheet interprets time is that 1 day means one single day. So if you want it to show the next day as the End Date, then you would need a duration of 2. If you are looking for the End Date to start the next item and you absolutely must leave it at 1, just use a predecessor and have it add 1 day to the start.

Also if you leave durations as 0, it will show up as a Milestone on your Gantt charts (with a diamond).

Let me know if this makes sense! 😊

Hi Michelle. Appreciate the response. I was already aware of the 0 duration showing up as a Milestone, but I was hoping was that there was some type of configuration option for 1 day duration to show completion on the same day or the next day (I need 1 day duration to show completion on the next day, not the same day). It does not appear like this is an option.
