Activity History for change of column formula

Hi all,
I have a sheet that i have been using for the past year and all of a sudden it seems something is wonky. I have parent and child rows that I can expand and collapse. I have conditional formatting on the parent to change colors when a child is present.
I cannot remember how I made it work, but all of a sudden it is no longer changing colors. My conditional formatting looks a helper column to determine color. That helper column has no formula (anymore?) It seems like something may have been setting that column to a value because its a hidden column.
Is there any way to search history to see when it changed or what it was? OR how can I create a function to set the column level of the parent row?
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks.

Have you checked the Activity Log for that sheet?

I have checked the activity history, but i see no mention of a formula changed.
I looked again more thoroughly and found something that contained a formula for that field. Apparently it was not a column formula, just in the cell(s). So it got lost somewhere when creating new rows.
I have now applied the formula to the column.
Thank you for prompting me to take another look!
