Good morning, I am looking to do the same thing with my test scripts in results. We would have a few testers per category (FOC, MA, Provider…etc). They should be able submit comments/images but I know it might be limited on forms. I am struggling to know where to start and need a visual of the form/sheet. Does anyone have an example of the setup? Thank you.

    Hi @emoser1978

Here’s a visual of the form/sheet about adding images, comments, and the sample Smartsheet setup for managing test scripts and feedback:

    1. Ways to Add Images in Smartsheet:

    1. As Attachments:
      • You can add images as attachments to a row. This is the only way to include images when using forms. Testers can upload screenshots or other files as attachments to support their test results.
    2. Directly in a Cell (Mobile App Only):
      • The Smartsheet mobile app allows users to add images directly into cells by capturing photos or uploading from their device. However, this method is unavailable through forms—only by directly editing the sheet on the mobile app and you need to give the testers editor access to the sheet, which you may not want to do.

    2. Regarding Comments:

    • You can use the comments feature in Smartsheet to allow testers to leave feedback. However, it would be easier for testers to fill in a multi-line text field in a form instead. This approach simplifies the process for testers and consolidates comments directly into the sheet.

    3. Sample Form Setup:

    • Form Title: Test Script Feedback
    • Fields:
      1. Tester Name: (Single-line text)
      2. Test Category: (Dropdown: FOC, MA, Provider, Other)
      3. Test Script ID: (Single-line text)
      4. Test Result: (Dropdown: Passed, Failed, Needs Review)
      5. Comments: (Multi-line text for detailed feedback) — Easier for testers than using the comments feature.
      6. Attachments: (File upload for screenshots) — Since forms can only handle images as attachments.
      7. Test Date: (Date picker)

By requiring Smartsheet login in the settings, you can get the Created By information. (Tester Contact system column in the example sheet.)

    4. Sample Sheet Setup:

    5. Key Points:

    • Comments: A multi-line text field in forms is simpler for testers than using the comments feature directly.
    • Attachments: Forms can only handle images as attachments, not directly in cells.
    • Mobile App: Testers can add images directly to cells if they use the app.
    • Limitations: Forms do not support embedding images directly in cells; only file attachments are possible.

This setup allows testers to submit comments and images effectively while organizing everything in a single sheet. 😊

This is wonderful, thank you! I will have at least 3-4 scripts within each test category (ex. FOC: Test Script 1, Test Script 2, Test Script 3…) and may need images for them as well, would an update work better to capture images as attachment for each script? It seems like I can only add file upload once per form. All other suggestions/setup look great.
