Saved changes by a user who wasn't logged in

Curious if anyone has ever seen something similar happen…
The user was reviewing cell history because a co-worker reached out after receiving an automated notification of a change.
The user was not logged into the sheet at the time, yet the cell history shows they made the change.

Double check the activity log. Are there any Dynamic Views or reports referencing this sheet? Could it have come from an update request? Are there any automations built into the sheet?

Hi yes! We do have automations built into the sheet, the trigger is to notify the person I selected once the row is changed.
There are a couple of gears next to the noted change in the Activity Log. The gears say, "API - Other Client" when hovered over.

This may sound like a silly question to ask and not know the answer to…does an update request make a change to the sheet that they didn't make?
-
There are chances that the form filled by the user through automation that is when they have set it to request an update setting thing. So in such cases its better to set the automation as restricted so that only the Smartsheet users can access it and not anyone from outside who has not logged in
