Attachments from Shared OneDrive location

I've seen some discussion of this, but they were older threads, so I'm not sure if the functionality has changed.
We have users that are trying to attach documents from OneDrive that were shared to them in OneDrive by another user. These will not attach.
Is this expected behavior by SmartSheet, and if so, are there any plans to include the ability to add OneDrive shared documents as attachments in the future?
Thank you

Hi are they trying to attach the Url or how are they attaching the documents?
If its multiple urls in one cell then you can attach one url then press Ctrl+Enter on keyboard and then attach one more url this should work -
No it's just one file. However the file is not native to their OneDrive, it has been shared to them by another user from that second user's OneDrive. When they go to add as an attachment on a row in the spreadsheet, it will fail without any error - the window will just close.

hi @Apalm,
yes attaching documents from OneDrive is a bug in Smartsheet and it does not function yet.
The support ticket is already opened for that.
the workaraound:
1. SelectΒ OneDriveΒ from the Attachment option list
2. In theΒ OneDriveΒ window that opens, select the My Files icon on the left bar
3. In My Files, navigate to the file you're looking to upload and hover over it to select More Actions (3 dot button)
4. In More Actions, select Preview
5. The window that opens will allow the files to be selected for Upload. Select the file(s) you're looking to upload and then click the blue Select button on the bottom right
6. The files will then upload to Smartsheet as expected

3. In My Files, navigate to the file you're looking to upload and hover over it to select More Actions (3 dot button)
If I hover over the file, it does not produce a "More Actions (3 dot button).
For reference, I am trying to do the same thing as this user -https://community.smartsheet.com/discussion/129968/adding-onedrive-files-to-a-dashboard?_gl=11tpjhbn_gcl_auNzI0MDI0OTQ1LjE3NDE3ODc3MDg._gaODYxNjk1Mjg0LjE3NDE3ODc3MDg._ga_ZYH7XNXMZK*MTc0MTc4NzcwNy4xLjEuMTc0MTc4ODI1Ny41OS4wLjA.
And they were told that they couldn't upload a file if it was shared - only if the user pulled the file onto their OneDrive directly. Is this still the case?

that's weird as this workaround worked for me and my colleagues.
I think you shall open support ticket for that.
