I am new to smartsheet and after taking the self paced trainings am working on setting up my organizations project tracking portfolio. I want our project timelines to have a summary report line that reports the current stage gate we are in (discovery, scoping, development, etc) and the current in-progress task.
In my sheets the parent is the gate and all the tasks in that gate are children. Is there a formula or some other way that each summary report has a field for the gate and a field for the current active task(s)? I've been trying to figure out some sort of =PARENT formula but am still new to the software so haven't determined what my options are.
If needed I can attach a screen grab of my sheet for reference.
