Survey / Forms not sending data everytime.

Hi folks,
I use Smartsheet Forms as a survey, and although it works very well most of the time, I have an employee who submitted his survey, received a confirmation email, but his data never made it to the Smartsheet.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it.

hi @212711649,
when someone fils the data with form and he gets the "your response was submitted" it must be in the sheet.
Have you checked if there is any "trash rows in between" please go to the latest row of the sheet and check if its there if it is please delete all the empty rows before (not remove data from it ) but delete the rows.

Try scrolling to the bottom of the sheet.
Forms populate the first unused row. Unused is different than blank. If there were some rows that had data in them, and you just cleared the data from the cells instead of deleting the rows entirely, those rows will still be considered as used which means the form will input new rows below them.
This is also assuming you have the form set to populate new rows at the bottom of the sheet instead of at the top of the sheet.

I have my Smartsheet set up so the rows are populated at the top of the sheet. The employee did receive their confirmation email, but their data is nowhere in the Smartsheet.

try doing a search for a known response they provided. hopefully there is a unique statement or comment that can be used. another is to look at the activity log for the time stamp of the email. you can usually see if a row/cell has been changed outside of the just the search.

Also, check the sheet's Activity Log. If the form directly creates a row in the sheet, then the event will be logged.
It's a good practice to include an auto number column in the sheet. Among other uses, I've found this to be invaluable for troubleshooting issues.
