How to get SS Form to display in MS teams channel

I am looking to get a form embedded within a teams channel. I added the form url as a website tab on the channel, but clicking on it opens the form in my browser. I want the form to display and be fillable directly in the teams channel.

    Hello @dsherwin

This community thread provides a workaround for what I think you want:

    https://community.smartsheet.com/discussion/71229/can-you-publish-a-form-to-microsoft-teams

"It should be possible via this work around:

    1. Create the form and publish it.
    2. Copy the URL provided
    3. Create a new tab in MS Teams to display a Webpage
    4. Pase the URL and provide a name for your tab"

    Hi @Melissa Yamada

Thanks for the feedback. This is what I did, but the form still opens in a browser rather than displaying in the teams channel.

"This site will be added as a tab and open in a browser window" is explicitly stated when adding a Webpage in Teams. I think this may be a new change in Teams. So this seems to be a Teams behavior, and not isolated to Smartsheet. (I did a quick Google search and found something along the lines of needing to wrap your web content in a secure Teams app package.. which gets into development that is definitely not my specialty,)

There IS the option to add Smartsheet instead of Webpage, though I don't know if this would qualify as a "secure Teams app package" or if it will solve your issue: when I tried to go through it, I was prompted to get Teams Admin permission in addition to logging in to Smartsheet, so I didn't proceed. Especially since it'd be tied to a login, I don't know whether that would be a long-term solution (or if you can use it to even surface a form - or if you can, how it would behave). Good luck with whatever you find!

If this answer resolves your question, please help the Community by marking it as an accepted answer. I'd also be grateful for your response - "Insightful"or "Awesome" reactions are much appreciated. Thanks!

@Kerry St. Thomas , yes, it might just be a teams issue. I do have Smartsheet linked to my teams, but for a form, you have to add that as a website. I watched a tutorial video from 2023 which the person opened a form directly in teams, but there may have been some modifications since then which no longer allow this.
