Calendar View on Dashboard - Set Default Timeframe

Hi!
I have set my SmartSheet to display as calendar view on my Dashboard. I am reusing the SmartSheet I created last year for this year's submissions. When I open the link to the dashboard, the calendar defaults last year's timeframe of submissions. I would like it to start with this year's submissions - May 25th, 2026. I've tried filtering out by date, but when I navigate to the dashboard, it automatically defaults to turning off my filters. How can I accomplish getting the calendar view to default to 2026 submissions? Thanks in advance!

Hi @Thu Nghiem
Great question!
From my testing, there’s no way to force a published sheet in calendar view to default to a specific timeframe (like starting from May 25, 2026), nor to make filters persist when viewing the sheet in a dashboard.
Here’s the workaround I used:
- I created a report filtered to show only 2026 submissions and set it to display in calendar view.
- I published that report and embedded it in the dashboard. This way, the calendar focuses on 2026 events right away.
- Since reports are editable (as long as the user has the correct permissions on the underlying sheet), users can make edits directly from the report view.
- I also added a link to the report, so users can open it and edit the calendar.
It’s not a perfect workaround, but it ensures your dashboard calendar stays focused on the right timeframe while supporting edits.
Hope this helps!
