Smartsheet Checkbox Not Triggering Automation Consistently

Hi everyone,

I have a simple automation set up in Smartsheet where checking a box in one column should automatically move the row to another sheet. It works most of the time, but occasionally, the checkbox is checked, and nothing happens.

I’ve double-checked the automation settings, and it’s set to trigger "When rows are changed." There are no conditions that should be preventing it from working. Has anyone else run into this issue? Could it be a delay, or is there something I might be overlooking?

Try doing the following changes which I have mentioned below

1) Change the setting of automation from "When rows are changed." to "When rows are added or changed."
2) Put this condition that is when the column checkbox is checked then move a row to another sheet

This has to work without any failure

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll update the automation to trigger on 'When rows are added or changed' and ensure the condition is set correctly. I’ll test it out and let you know if I still run into any problems.

Hi, @Drew Moon, if the checkbox is a calculated column/field, then configure the workflow as follows:
• "When rows are added or changed" and…
• "When 'Any field' changes" and…
• Add a condition "Where [checkbox column] is checked"

Calculated fields/columns will not trigger an automated workflow.

Also, it can take anywhere from 1-10 minutes after a change is saved for an automated workflow to trigger.
