I do my best to declutter my workspace, but it never stays the way I'd like. The best item on my desk is definitely the switch that raises or lowers the desk's height. I say that because I often forget it's there, but when I do remember and decide to stand up after sitting slouched for what feels like hours, it's more than a stretch; it's a change in my mindset and awareness of how I'm feeling. So here's to anyone else who could pay more attention to that switch on your standing desk!

Coffee is always on your desk because it fuels your day, keeps you focused, and adds a comforting ritual to your workflow. Whether it’s the rich aroma, the caffeine boost, or just the habit of having a warm cup nearby, coffee is your trusty companion. It’s there for early mornings, long meetings, and those deep-focus moments when you need an extra push. Plus, let’s be real—having coffee on your desk just feels right. ☕

I have a few small rocks I picked up while hiking in different locations. When I get stressed I look at them (or hold them) and it reminds me of peaceful, fun times!
-
I alternate between three laptops some times so my Dual Monitor KVM switch lets me change where my two monitor are connected to and it makes my life so much easier!
-
I have a post it that simply says, "Breathe." A reminder from my boss.
-
A yellow sticky note on the side on my monitor that says BELIEVE in blue marker ink. Yes, this is a reference to Ted Lasso 😎

I have a Quartet desktop whiteboard (glass surface, 18" x 6", sits at about a 30° angle) great place to note down a quick note that I only need for a few minutes.
but I also currently have a stuffed bunny, sitting in a small basket for an Easter decoration (I change the stuffed animal each month) -
I just ordered a generic glass whiteboard that has lines on one side and blank on the other - what a great idea!! Appreciate the tip!

My favorite item on my desk is a set of table topics cards. When people come to my desk they choose a card and answer the question and we get to have a discussion. Random pull: "what would you love to find at a yard sale?" It's a really great way to get to know someone and I get to look away from my computer!
I also have a filing cabinet wall full of plants. They make me happy in my undecorated space.

I love the idea of having topic conversation cards! I might have to implement this in my office! I can see it being a great way to break the monotony of work conversations into something more creative and stress-relieving.

I have a wooden frog I keep at my desk that a coworker I have known forever got me. He went on vacation and got one for each person on the team. When you stroke the spines on the back of the frog with the stick it makes a croaking sound. Now whenever anyone on the team needs help with something they just make their frog croak and someone on the team comes running to help. Great inside joke for our team but probably annoying for everyone else in the office.

I don't have a desk, so my back is important to me. My team jokes that i like everything I need with me no matter If I'm grabbing a desk at work or my kitchen table or traveling My can't work with out it item is my air pods. With the right music, I can get anything done.

Undoubtedly, my coffee mug.
Yes, I can get inspired by nice quotes, or by pictures from love ones and my dog. However, coffee is real and my truly live line.
My coffee mug IS the platform that take me there.
Go coffee mug, the unsung hero!

I am loving this feed! Getting to know everyone through their desks is so much fun!
I have 2 items that are very deer to me.One is a little flower that has a solar panel and it moves when it gets power. It's friendly and happen and makes me smile. Our team works remotely all across the world, and when we met each other in person for the first time, our Chief of Staff handed these out to us all. It was a simple gesture, with a real silly gift, but it reminds us that we're all part of something bigger. Not to mention the notion of growing where you are planted. A happy, healthy reminder that we're all part of something bigger
The other is this office art on my wall. My 4 year old son made it at school and proudly presented it to me the other day. The proportions are off, the clouds and sun are just scribbles, and the flowers are simple scribbles. But i find so much meaning behind this. It reminds me that even the little things in life (like ladybugs) can have the most meaning. And that it isn't always about the individual elements but rather the beauty of it all together. Sweet chaos, just like the little guy himself.

This is my favorite 'item' on my desk. It is a clilp with the pics of my son from his high school graduation, his boot camp graduation, his most recent visit home, and the prayer card from my dad's memorial service. My inspiration and drive are all in one clip on my desk. Daily reminder of my father's words, "Do good! Do Better!" He used to say it all the time!
