IF(AND Today() with color

Hi Team,

I've attached my If(AND(TODAY formula with color.  I then set the conditional formatting to look at the row that returned "Red" or "Yellow" in this case.

The question I wanted to ask, Can I avoid the conditional formatting and have the code return the color instead  ? See attachment

Maybe I would suggest changing the column to symbols (red, yellow, or green ball) instead of the words "red" or "yellow".  You can still use a formula to automatically set the status ball.
