This is amazing!!! I just wish Smartsheet had a larger Row limit. I might be ignorant as to why but I do not understand why Excel can but Smartsheet cant?
-
Did you see that it's increased to 50K rows now? You can apply for 100K rows, and it will continue to increase.

@Paul.Woodward and @Andrée Starå - Just to clarify, at this time, your table view sheets support up to 20,000 rows (just like grid view). However, if you need more rows, you can opt-in to bump up your sheet to support up to 50,000 rows. In the coming months, we'll bump up that number further to 100,000 rows (and even more in the future).
-
THANK YOU! Meeting with an acct manager Tuesday to bump it up!

Thanks for the clarification. I was too excited and wanted more. 🤣

This is fantastic, I'm excited about these changes. I think it was needed as I think Google sheets will probably start using automations/etc with their platform and it would then be hard for smartsheets to compete for our business. One thing I turned on table view this morning and it was way to slow, very jumpy, unusable. I'm hoping that over the next few months it smooths out. Thanks for the updates.

great to see table view hit the road :-)
Is there an overview about features available in grid view but not (yet) in table view?
Greetings

I have a few questions:
- Can the formatting done in Table View carry through into reports?
- If we update our Project Plan sheet template with specified formatting in Table View; will it be applied to all future projects that are provisioned?
- Can we use control center/global updates to roll out standard color-coding in Table View across all existing projects?
-
@Paula Grahame - Table view (along with Board and Timeline views) automatically saves as you go, no action required. If you look in the header of the sheet, you'll see a little save indicator showing you the save status of the sheet. Hope that helps!
-
@Darla Brown - You won't lose any automations or other features by switching to Table view. It's just like switching to any other view (like Board or Timeline). In fact, you can even access and manage automations directly from Table view. The situation where automations are not supported is if you explicitly opt-in (via request) for larger scale sheets and add more than 20,000 rows to your sheet. Automations are not supported beyond that scale, but that support is coming in the future. Cheers!

I currently update my sheet using a data shuttle whenever I attach a new file to it.
Can I attach files to Tables?
Thank you!

Yes - we do all the time. And we run DataShuttle from Table view.

Awesome!! Can you embed a sheet in table view on a dashboard?
