Suggestions for making readable schedules / Conditional formatting last occurrance

Hello All,

I have a manufacturing schedule sheet which lists tasks that are sorted by date. I have a bunch of conditional formatting rules applied to make things easier to read and identify. Each day contains 5 or more tasks on average.

The supervisors who populate the schedule are having trouble when editing rows because they find it hard to see which row they are editing. I have told them to mouse over the row to apply the highlight to the row they are editing but this hasn't seemed to work for them. To fix this they have been adding blank rows after every day to make space between each day but when we sort rows by date all the blank rows end up at the bottom.

I am looking for some suggestions on how to make the schedule easier to read within dates so that the supervisors make less errors editing in the wrong row without having to use these blank rows.

My thought is to make some sort of conditional formatting that looks for the last row in a set of dates and apply a color to the row to signify the last item in that date. I haven't been able to figure out a way to do this so any help /suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks!

not sure if this is what your looking to do. but you Add a Column with the # auto Number and just Have it Count the Rows you have. and Hide that row. then Set up an Conditional Formatting for Highlight the Odd rows a very Light Color so they can Look across the sheet nicely. as long as it will not mess up you Colors you already use for everything else.

This gave me an idea. I already have a column listing which day of the week it is. So I just made Mon Wed and Fri their own colors and Tue, Thur, Sat a different color. This made it easy to see what tasks are on which day. Thanks for the suggestion.

I am still open to other ideas if anyone else reads this and has any.
