Hi Smartsheet superusers! Ok, so I used Smartsheet with a previous employer for a few years and it's been about two years since I was really working in the system. My potential new employer uses it and I am going to need to be able to show my aptitude during the interview process, so I attempted to create myself a free personal account to play around…it seems like even creating a blank sheet is requiring an upgrade now.

Am I missing something, or is there no free level of Smartsheet these days?

As of summer 2024 all new plans are on the new USM pricing model. Only legacy plans who have NOT had a renewal yet can still get collaborator model that you are used to. I do not know if those legacy plans are able to stay on or will be forced to upgrade at their next renewal or what year that could be as many customers are multi year contracts.

USM allows for much more predictable pricing and access to way more feature that are condusive to collaborative work management. That said, it does come at the trade off of free accounts.

Best option would be atleast to refresh on the smartsheetU articles and videos
