Can't Link Cells from a Different Smartsheet

I am getting an error message when I try to link cells. The cells are in different Smartsheets that are in the same workspace. I've been getting the error message since last Thursday. The error message reads "Sorry, we're having trouble reaching Smartsheet right now. Please check for any known issues at status.smartsheet.com or contact us at www.smartsheet.com/gethelp for help.

looks like temporary bug - check on status.smartsheet.com if everything works.

it does not matter if it's the same workspace or not the sheet shall be shared with you only (even as a viewer)
