Dragging cells increases the number when trying to copy

When I have a value, say a date, in a cell, I highlight the cell then drag the lower right corner down to copy the date to the cells below, it's increasing the date by one each time instead of just copying it. How do I fix this so I can just drag down to copy cells exactly as they are in the top cell?

Hi,

I hope you're well and safe!

If you select the first value cell and the last one where you want to populate the same, while holding Shift, and then press CTRL+D or CMD+D, it will populate.

I could hit copy on the date you want, highlight all the cells you want that date in and then paste.
