It would be great to be able to export a Group User List in the admin portal to a .csv
This would be to share with others without giving them access and also easier review a large list using filters or other excel tools

Please fix this, it's basic system management to at least have it alphabetically and to be able to export the list to verify against a personnel list. I have a group with over 2000 names and another with over 500. I need better management tools.
This is would amazing. The ability to allow others to provide input, without access by exporting groups would be so helpful for administration!!
I'm a somewhat new Smartsheet Admin, I agree export to csv or other would be a great feature for Group Management. Do we know where this sits in the list of requested features?
Also, we use 100+ different Group Names (way too many...), so how do I know if a requesting individual is already added to any groups? If it hasn't been requested already, I'd like to search a First/Last name or by email to see all the different groups an individual is added to.
Thanks!
We need to audit a group and it still doesn't appear to be a feature to be able to export the users in a smartsheet group to an excel file. Our groups get into the hundreds as well and it is very time consuming to audit if we cannot sort the users.
Need report options to export Users by User Group.
Currently we can export two reports:
Hello,
our environment is now quite large, and I need a way to determine which users are parts of which groups. The current user report does not show us any group information for the users. And I cannot find any group reports that export who is part of each group.
We have many unlicensed users both internal and external who are part of our environment, and it would be good to do a better job of keeping track of who these people are and what group content they should be accessing. But I cannot easily see this via reports.
If a report could be created to show users and their groups. or even add groups to the user report.
Thank you
As companies grow and change this report is absolutely necessary. Many of the other reports have little or no value. Please add it ASAP!
I would like to see some basic form of this be available to Workspace owners, not just users of the Admin portal. I have access to create groups and to create workspaces, but not the Admin Panel. I want to export who I've already shared to so I can use this information as a starting point to create a group. To do this, I need access outside the Admin Panel (our company is large and this is a small request that will never be filled by our IT administrators if I cannot run it myself). A better option would be to put a shortcut within the sharing option on the sheets/ect. that lets you share and add the user to a group, but that is likely a separate user idea to submit.
Hello!
I often use the group management to create global employee groups, manager only, 2nd level manager groups etc.
With the ever-changing status of employees, I have found it hard to audit the individuals that I have listed in the corresponding group, besides scrolling through all of the members of the group.
I am proposing a tool enhancement of group management, that allows you to download an excel file of the listed individuals in a group. This would allow for easy auditing & upkeep on the groups I have created, as well as ensuring the correct employees have the correct access.
Thank you for your time!!
I am an admin, and being able to download a user list by group would be helpful for auditing. We have a group with over 800 people, and I need an easier way to verify that everyone who needs to be added has been added. Currently, it doesn't even show users alphabetically. And half the time it will error and say that there are no users found.
This is a basic feature on nearly all enterprise-level platforms and is critical to facilitate admins managing their environments. Groups are particularly important for providing the right level of access to the right assets, and for ensuring that when staff transition occurs an admin can quickly and easily change that user's access.
The ability to export user groups & member lists only enhances security and access control across the environment. It is a basic change that only has upsides and should be added.
In addition, it'd be great to be able to see the list of users in a group from the Group Management window vs 3 clicks that open a new page and make you lose your place, and search, in the Group list.
We have some large group lists that we use to manage access, and there is currently no way to download a list of names out of group management that can be used to cross reference as data to manage out groups. Yes, I can open it up to view in the browser, but have to scroll on the browser, and when you have hundreds of people, it is not realistic to be able “eyeball” each name or search for each one individually, or be able to cross reference these people to their actual usage from the User Type reports. We used to use the Workspace sharing report that listed the names and groups they were in, but they recently removed this workspace sharing report, and so we lost the functionality of see who is shared to a workspace AND who's in what groups. Anyone else in the same boat?
Seconding this idea - trying to keep track of the relevant groups for employees is so daunting with Smartsheet's current capabilities. Larger organizations like mine have a lot of fluidity with employee transfers and it's very time consuming to scroll and try to find who needs to get moved where.
Hi, I was creating new dashboard and thought it'll be so nice to have easy drag and drop Report widget capability from Workspace Panel since I always group set of reports under one folder (for ease of finding them what goes on the dashboard). I think this would be great time saver especially if you have similar name…
In the Resource Management Plan Settings in Control Center, there is no way to link the Client and Project Code fields even though they are not Custom fields and part of the first 3 fields you enter when creating a new project. I can't select them in the Custom Resource Management Information Fields because they are not…
Since the license model has changed, the option to Share should default to VIEW, not EDIT. The View option allows less-experienced users to share that way by default, and share as Edit only when needed. This allows for less cleanup during true-up. This also prevents users from adding provisional licenses unknowingly.
