What types of emails define a Guest?

A Guest is defined per Smartsheet as follows: those with email domains different from your organization's. 

My question is: can a guest be someone with a personal email, such as @gmail or @yahoo?

@paulen domain is anything after the @ symbol so yes @gmail.com is going to be different than @yourcompany.com
