Copy value from one cell of the same row to another

Hello, SmartSheet community. Does anyone know if there's a way to automate for new row created/existing row updated event to grab the values from one column and paste it into another column of the same row?
Both columns are pull-downs. Source column has a pre-defined list of users where one or more user can be selected. I want to copy only selected users from source column to target.

hi so copying in the same sheet without formulas would be impossible - and if you use formulas it will not do it dynamically but statically.

if both column are copied from another sheet maybe you can use formula in Sheet Summary to slect the user and than in the second column just make put the value from the Sheet Summary?

i have not tested it yet can be tricky becaus in the destination sheet the 2nd (with selected user) needs to be setup to Formula Column despite in Source Sheet it will be just DropDown list. It shall work however.

No, in my case I want to copy from one cell to another on the same sheet. Let's say I want to copy contacts from cell A to cell B of the same sheet, same row upon row creation/edit. I did not find this functionality under Sheet automation. Thanks.
