How to remove people from Contact List dropdowns?

I have a similar issue. Our projects are confined to several workspaces & there are a lot of them. I can't search every single one easily. In our company we have both a numbered email & a named (Employee ID@company.com and firstlast@company.com) Somewhere along the way (before my time) some of the numbered emails were added in & available to be selected for a contact instead of the correct one.
There are several that are listed as available contacts by their number but only within a sheet. The number is not listed anywhere else. People just type in their name and the number floats to the top. And the worst is they look basically the same, so the person has no idea they did it (most just hit enter/tab to add it)
This is huge because I created an integration via Power Automate from SS to Meisterplan. When the SS task data flows over for that person, Meisterplan/Power Automate needs the name@company.com email to match it up with the right resource. So when someone adds one of these numbered contacts, it breaks the integration because that number is not added to MP and the data doesn't come in at all. I'm spending a lot of time chasing these down as the errors come in. I hope I'm making sense!
1. I've removed all the numbered emails from admin panel (I removed the one above about 2 weeks ago)
2. The numbers are not listed in my Contacts in SS (I'm the owner of the workspaces).
3. We use Okta for SSO & I am not sure if it comes into play for contacts like it does for users.
How in the world do I get them out of SS so people cannot choose them? Where are they saved? Is it just a cache issue?

You can change the contact field to only allow those in the list and add only the ones you want to allow to be chosen on the sheet.
As far as it coming up in their contact list they will have to remove the contacts as each user has their own contact list for smartsheets. But if you implement the above on the sheet it will not allow them to select the incorrect one from their contact list
I'm unaware of a way for admins to remove from individual users contact lists.
