Wasn't there 1 email sent for multiple approval requests?

Hello!
I have an annual process where I trigger an approval workflow to approve/decline the way controls are written. Previously there had been one email that was generated for all of the approvals assigned to the same person as long as they were triggered at the same time. I just tested the process and sure enough that isn't working any longer, and I got multiple email notifications rather than one.
Did something change over the past year to cause this?
