Is there a way to get a single day calendar view

I am building a schedule of sorts for a multiple day event. Calendar view is only able to display down to a week. I need a daily view. This coupled with filters and reports will make the large volume of activities more customizable and easier to consume for clients.

It’s a bugger but correct.. Smartsheet's Calendar View only shows weekly intervals at best limiting for multiday events that require a true day by day breakdown. However you can could build a solution using Reports, Gantt View, and Dashboards for a more daily focused or publish for client friendly schedule!

You will need a moderate level of Smartsheet nous & time.

If it’s just the sheet you want, use Gantt View for daily visibility. Zoom into the day level using the toolbar at the top of the Gantt chart.

    In Project Settings set

    • Start and End Dates for each activity
    • Use the Predecessor column if needed for sequencing.
    • Enable Dependencies if required.
    • Add some columns to assist with report building & filtering etc, these could be dropdowns or check boxes worlds your oyster as they say - e.g. ‘Day’ ‘Session’ ‘Room’ ‘Keynote’

Use Filters in the Sheet to show Day 1 activities or Only show keynote sessions to simplify views for clients or internal teams. The new Timeline or Table Views might be worth a look too..

    Create and use Reports.

Build a report pulling from your main sheet and group by day. This can serve as your daily agenda and you can create multiple reports e.g. Day 1 Day 2 etc

    • Use Group by the Start Date.
    • Filter by date ranges e.g. Start Date is within the next 7 days for a dynamic daily view

Finally build a Dashboard by adding the report/s built or the filtered sheet and filter set to daily or session etc. Dashboards are much easier to read than a full sheet but keep it clean and focused.

    Good luck

    Cheers.

  • I need to get to start and end times not just day. Any ideas?

Nope, Primarily SS is at a day level.

While you can have several events in a single day, perhaps each noted in the Duration column as 2H or 30M in all will appear in the one day cell in Gantt view.

You could use a Text column where times are random OR make it a Dropdown then list times simular to an outlook calendar. There are 3rd party paid apps like Zapier that can push Smartsheet entries to a calendar app like outlook or Google where times are then managed.

    Cheers.
