Project Management Office Template Updates

Hi all,

I've downloaded the amazing PMO template. At step 2 of the instructions, I've added more than the 6 standard fields (and renamed them) in the Project Intake Form and have rearranged how I wish the Intake Sheet columns are viewed (step 2).

Before doing step 3, I want to update the Project Metadata Sheet in the Project Template Folder to reflect the new fields/columns (because I need the copy template to reflect the new form/fields so that whenever a form is filled out, I 'save new' and I'm creating a new project folder with the updated template).

On the Project Metadata Sheet, there's a helpful column called notes. I need to update all the column formulas in this sheet to reflect the new fields in the Intake form (I think…if I'm understanding how it all links together and rolls up), but the notes refers to "Portfolio Summary' and the formula links reference 'Portfolio Summary Header'?

Where do I find Portfolio Summary?

Essentially, because I've downloaded the standard PMO template, I need more than 6 columns/fields to link to the Intake Sheet and have that all roll up, so how do I modify the template?

Hopefully that makes sense! Thanks for your help!

Genevieve

    Hi @Genevieve Orca

Can you see the sheet in the main workspace - outside the template folder?

Another way to find a sheet:

    1. Click on a cell in your Project Metadata Sheet that’s already linked to the Portfolio Summary. look for a small grey outward arrow in the corner this means the data is being sent out. A blue inward arrow means data is coming in
    2. A popup will appear showing the sheet data it’s going to like "Used in formula on Portfolio Summary" this is a hyper link
    3. Click the link then in the bottom left corner you'll see an option Go to Sheet to open the Portfolio Summary sheet - problem solved (hopefully)

    Once you’ve found the sheet

    1. Add your new columns. (make sure they exactly match the new ones you added to the Metadata Sheet)
    2. Update any crosssheet formulas so they reference your new columns correctly.

If you find a Sheet Summary Report don’t add columns to the Portfolio Summary sheet add your new fields to the Sheet Summary section of the Project Metadata Sheet and include those in the report.

    Cheers.

  • Thank you @Jason P! I appreciate you responding. Looking at the template, the Project Metadata seem to all have blue in ward arrows. I checked the other sheets and they also all have blue arrows. In the project metadata sheet and I click on the link, it shows the below. If it's a complete template, just curious as to why the summary isn't found anywhere or if there's instructions somewhere on how I can relink it to what I need it to actually do.

When you click on a cell, any indication what sheet is feeding in to the cell? - looking for a breadcrumbs…

Download the template pack again - see if it contains the missing sheet. Anything in the comments or attachments on the Author - looking for a feedback/contact.

    Cheers.

  • Thanks again @Jason P I think this template could be missing the summary sheet for some reason and will send in feedback
