How to save group selection in timeline view

Hi there, I'm trying out timeline view for the first time and wondering how to save the group selection in timeline view. I have to reselect the group every time I go back to the sheet and it is quite troublesome especially when I'm sharing the sheet directly with our client. I can't seem to find any button to save my group selection. Could someone help shed some light on this please, thanks in advance!

When it comes to the Group option in Timeline View, it’s important to note that this is a user-specific preference. Smartsheet remembers the applied grouping for each user per timeline, so that might explain the behavior you're seeing, especially if others are accessing the sheet or if you're switching devices or browsers.

Have you considered using filters instead? Filters can help display specific sets of data consistently. In this help article Track date-based work with timeline view you’ll find a best practices video (the first one on the page), and around minute 6:34, you can see how to set a filter that shows only rows at the parent level. This might be a useful workaround depending on your use case.
