Workapp - Dynamic View permissions

Hi @MarnieMaria,
WorkApps allow you to share Smartsheet items with users who arenβt daily Smartsheet users - they allow you to place multiple items all in one place and provide users access to them.Β
Although Dynamic Views can be added on WorkApps, the underlying Dynamic View must be shared to anyone who should be able to access the embedded Dynamic View. This is noted in our help article under βEmbed contentβ: Embed custom content in dashboards, collections in workspaces, and WorkApps.
The bug referred to on this related thread was a slightly different issue - Dynamic Views were not loading on WorkApps for users who were shared to the Dynamic Views, showing a blank screen or a βrefuse to connectβ error message.Β
That bug is now resolved, whereas the behaviour youβre seeing, with users who arenβt shared to the underlying Dynamic View seeing the error βYouβre not shared to this view. Youβre currently not shared in Dynamic View. Please contact the owner of this dashboard.β is expected. To ensure that the users are able to view the Dynamic Views on a WorkApp, youβll need to go to Dynamic View and edit the sharing settings of the specific view to share it to the necessary users.
Thanks,
Georgie

Hi @Isaac A. ,
I have been researching this issue for a few hours myself today. I also, am still having this problem. I created a WorkApp specifically so I wouldn't have to give access to individuals to several sheets and Dynamic Views when they are added or leave the team. I asked a few people to test it out and they got this message on the Dynamic Views they aren't specifcally shared to:

Thanks @Georgie for the explanation. I did not find it clear in the WorkApps documentation that Dynamic View is considered an embed and different from adding a page that is a sheet or report, which you do not have to share in order to use in the WorkApps. It's disappointing that it ruins the point of using the WorkApps and easily adding/removing users through roles.
