  • I can’t figure out how to bulk remove the linked cells when they are the gray arrows in the bottom right of the cell. (I know hardly anything about linking cells - a former employee had been trying to create links to a new sheet and left without completing it so now I have seemingly random arrays of cells with these links!)

Greetings - I think you are referring to the outbound cell link. Meaning the cell with the grey arrow is used in another sheet. If you hover over the cell you should get a pop-up that says which sheet it's used on. Go to that sheet and you should find the associated inbound blue carrot/arrow. Once you identify the inbound links you can bulk remove them as noted in this above article.

Thank you so much. When I hover over the cells with the gray arrows, it says link to <unknown sheet> which is hyperlinked. When I click on the hyperlink, I see the below message.

I've tried to look for the sheet other ways but can't find it. Any ideas?

Apologies for the delayed response. This message very often appears when sheets are deleted or renamed but the link isn't correctly dissolved from the outbound cell. BUT it could also be accurate that the link goes to a sheet you don't have permission to.

Do you have access as an account administrator to inherit the previous employees sheets? If so, do that and then see if you can follow the links. If not, then it's likely just cleanup that didn't happen correctly and they can be disregarded.
