Sort by Date column within the Report - Report pulls in parent and child/ancestor rows

Hello,
I have a report that I would like to sort by the Target Start Date column. I have added various helper columns as well to help facilitate this. Before adjusting the sort, there is one parent row for a project/underlying sheet, along with its child rows that are out of order, in terms of sort by Target Start Date. I can't seem to have this report sort by Target Start Date while keeping the hierarchical structure in place. Any thoughts? Thanks, community!

Hi @mmac, unfortunately it's not possible to sort in a report only using the parent rows, while maintaining the parent-child hierarchy to group them altogether.
My initial thought is that you probably don't want to use reports for this use case, and you probably just want to try to achieve what you need directly in the sheet.
In your report, are you trying to join data between two different sheets? Or are you just using it to quickly hide specific columns, so that you can view the data without all of the columns visible?

@SSFeatures This report brings in multiple different sheets from various project folders within a workspace as they are created. Ideally, we keep the parent row in as part of the report. Thanks for your feedback!
