Managing Colors of Parent Rows in Gantt View

I am trying to change the DARK blue that came with this WBS Schedule template from Smartsheet. I have tried right clicking on the task bar but Color Settings is not an option. I have tried managing through Conditional Formatting from the Grid View but it only affects the grid view tasks (as noted in the attached image…Task is following the Conditional Formatting rules but the Gantt view isn't). If nothing else, how can I change the font in the Gantt view to WHITE so it can be seen? Thank you!

Hi @Marie C, you should be able to do this by clicking the "Background Color" option in the Conditional Formatting menu.

I cloned the WBS template and then changed the background to red in the Gantt View.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you, Nathan. I appreciate your quick response. There must be something else odd in this template we are using or it is very old (I haven't searched for a newer version lately). Not sure if that might be additional information to help me troubleshoot this odd situation.

My ANCESTORS column is populated with R1…which is what I used in the Conditional Formatting. While it works for the Parent task bars in the Grid View, it is not affecting those rows in the gantt view, as shown in my initial image.

You're welcome Marie! Yea I agree with you too, there must be something weird going on, or something that I'm not seeing as well. Because your conditional format looks correct.

I wonder if there's another conditional format that is somehow colliding with it?

For my screenshot, I cloned the WBS template today, so it actually has a different setup than the one that you're using.

Maybe try recloning the WBS template and see if you can get it to work on a fresh one? And then we'll know for sure that the problem is just with that one sheet?
