Approval workflow to record approver's name

Reopening this conversation. I have the need to record who approved, as well, may have multi-approver process. Has anyone found a way to do this?

I tried modified by but then anytime the modified by changes, so does that field. Due to other automations, it overwrites who approves with smartsheet automation.

this can be done, but it takes some creativity:

1. Create a column that references the Modified By column (so just a simple column formula =[Modified By]@row).
2. In your approval workflow, have it copy the row to another sheet once approved.
3. Have your 'main' sheet look up the 'copied to' sheet to pull in the approver from the column you added in step #1
