Dashboard shortcut widget

Hi all,

I am using the shortcut widget to add links to my dashboard, can anyone guide me on how can I open these links on a new tab?

hi @SophieD,

By default if you have links widgets on dashboard they open in the browser in a new tab.
This is how it works with me on Chrome.

Thanks @kowal, however, it does not work for us. We have links on dashboards linking to other Smartsheet assets and when we click open them from the dashboard, they only open on the same tab, whether we use Chrome or Explorer. Would be great to have that default option too.

I take back what you said before it's only for external links that it opens in new tab.

If you choose Smartsheet item to be opened it will be opened in the same tab.

I think there are only 2 options you can do to make it work:

1. as a type of shortcut use website but as link use the smartsheet link so it will open in new tab.
2. open new Product Idea post in the other section of this community and wait for smartsheet to implement such features that internal smartsheet links can be open in new tabs.
