We are looking for a possible workaround to dynamic reporting , and were suggested resource management as a possible solution/

Has anyone used resource management as a replacement for a dynamic reporting.

I am interested to hear of any possible workarounds that would save us some dynamic reports.

From what I understand we only get 50 dynamic reports per blueprint, so I was hoping someone has experience in this.

Not sure if this is best practice or possible, and resource management would be an add on.

Yes, you're rightβ€”Smartsheet Control Center currently enforces aΒ

The hard limit is 50 dynamic scope reports (DSRs) per blueprint, which can be quite restrictive for organizations that areΒ managing large portfolios.

    • RM isΒ not a full replacementΒ for dynamic reports. It’s best used forΒ resourcing and capacity planning, not detailed project tracking or custom reporting.

    Other Workarounds to Consider

    • Rollup Sheets + Dashboards:
      • Use summary rollup sheets to aggregate key data across projects.
      • Display filtered views in dashboards instead of separate reports.
    • Segmented Blueprints:
      • Split your blueprint into smaller ones by department or region to get additional DSR allocations.
    • Portfolio WorkApps:
      • If you're using Portfolio WorkApps, you can createΒ custom roles and pagesΒ that simulate report views without using DSRs.

    Thank you for the information!

Rollup Sheets + Dashboards. - This is a good idea. I implemented this and I am trying to see how we can utilize them more.

The issue is that the summary sheets seem pretty basic from what I've seen, and they collect information at project level and I am trying to gather very specific elements from the project.

I created a separate Blueprint. It seems that it's the more natural approach since we will be adding 4 more dynamic reports.

I will look into Portfolio WorkApps too. . I am just not sure of the best way to use them with our team.
