Finding a deleted sheet

I believe a sheet was deleted from my workspace. Is there any audit or some way that I can determine if it was deleted and by who?

Yes, it can be permanently deleted after 30 days. I'm not 100% sure, but if someone deletes it and you're the owner, it would still end up in your deleted sheets section.
Unfortunately, there isn't a central audit except maybe with the Premium Add-on feature, Event Reporting.

Hi,
I hope you're well and safe!
You can check the Deleted Items section at the bottom when you're in the Browse section.
Did that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic day!

I don't see anything in my deleted. But I don't think I would see it there if 1) someone else deleted it or 2) I deleted it more than 30 days ago.
I was hoping there was a more general audit of changes to the workspace.

Yes, Smartsheet provides audit and activity tracking features that can help you determine if a sheet was deleted — and by whom — but access depends on your plan level.
1. Use the Activity Log (for Sheets or Workspaces)
If you had access to the sheet before it was deleted and your plan includes the Activity Log (Business or Enterprise plans):
- Go to the workspace where the sheet was stored.
- Click the "Activity Log" in the right panel or via the sheet/workspace menu.
- Filter the activity by:
- Event Type: "Deleted"
- Date Range
- User
- You should see an entry like:
“Sheet ‘XYZ’ deleted by [username] on [date/time]”
🧠 Note: The activity log only stores the past 6 months of activity.

I don't see an Activity Log for the Workspace. I think what I'm seeing if only for individual sheets. And that doesn't any have filters for Deleted.

Hi,
I hope you're well and safe!
This is, unfortunately, incorrect!
There is no such feature in a Workspace. Would love to have it. 😉You have to double-check the answers from ChatGPT or the AI service you use to ensure they are correct.
AI tools are fantastic, but they are far from perfect.
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic day!

yes you are right about no filters for deleted.
but I have tested by deleting a workspace and then restoring it maybe it works for you:

The Activity Log only works in the sheet, so it's impossible to view it because it has been deleted. It's not possible to access the information. If it had been rows, it would have worked.
Make sense?

Yes it makes sense that this approach works effectively at the row level, and the cell history feature at the row level has also proven to be particularly useful for tracking changes.
