Getting Around the Page Unresponsive Message and "Frozen" Screens

Options

A number of times during the day, when I am making edits to sheets (usually when I switching between windows/tabs), the page seems "frozen" and I get the following message (Page Unresponsive). I have to wait before the message appears, then wait even longer after I click Wait. It is incredibly burdensome to work in Smartsheet when this happens. Is this an issue with Smartsheet's server, or is this on my end (like my WiFi connection)? Is there anyway to significantly reduce the number of times this happens? It isn't a great thing to happen when I'm trying to get people to adopt Smartsheet.

    Hello @aschneiderheinze1025

Some points listed below you may consider:

    • Reduce number of open Smartsheet tabs at a time to save the memory usage (you may want to check your RAM capacity to ensure there's enough free memory)
    • Close other heavy web apps or browser tabs (e.g., email, social media, streaming).
    • Temporarily disable browser extensions (like Grammarly, ad blockers, etc.) to test.
    • Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge (fully updated) – both are the most stable with Smartsheet.
    • Check your internet speed: Run a test via Speedtest. You’ll want at least 10 Mbps+ and low ping (<50ms) for smooth real-time updates.
    • Clear browser cache weekly if you're a frequent Smartsheet user.
