Upvoting this to raise attention. I've asked this question previously. If sending an attachment with an alert isn't possible, it shouldn't be an option in the "things to include in this message" dropdown. Instead, I've had to create an approval request with far too much explanatory language telling the recipient "no, you don't need to do anything, unless you want to download the document, in which case, you have to open this request, but, you don't need to actually approve anything". I just want to send a final report to a recipient when a process is completed. This feels straightforward and easily remedied and yet…it's been over a year since I asked.

Thank you Susan L - Agreed, it should be straight forward - just include everything ….it is very frustrating, and I was advised to use an Update Request action, but this is not a workable solution as this mail needs to be sent to a helpdesk, and their software does not read this in properly into their system as you would still need to open the request and click on the attachments then manually download them. Also, there are times when there is no attachment, and this complicates the situation further. So, perhaps that would work better for you to change it to an Update Request than the Authorise option?
