Trying to figure out the right keyword relating to Templates

I have a smartsheet where I'm trying to codify standardized steps. That is to say, I am simply writing down the steps that are involved in a particular task as I encounter them, and I'd like to be able to reuse them later. For example, all the subtasks that are involved in updated the NEXT ASSY/USED ON values on a drawing file.

I can do this simply by copying and pasting the rows, but that requires I be in a sheet where that task is already fleshed out. The answer doesn't seem to be a template, per se, because I'm not wanting to predefine the whole of the sheet. I'm wanting to be able to click on something that results in the various task and subtask rows prefilling themselves out (and I simply do some of the assignment bits).

Being able to figure out the solution requires I know the name for it so I can go searching. While I'll definitely appreciate clear guidance on this, any thoughts on what I'm actually wanting?

For this you would need to leverage the API, the premium add-on Bridge, or some other similar third party app.
